Sentra, a cybersecurity firm, has raised $150 million in funding to address data security concerns surrounding AI agents in enterprises. The round, led by Capital One Ventures, brings Sentra’s total funding to over $250 million, with the new investor securing a board seat. Existing backers, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Zeev Ventures, Standard Investments, Munich Re Ventures, and Key1 Capital, also participated in this round, demonstrating continued confidence in the company’s vision.
With AI agents gaining access to sensitive company and customer data, Sentra aims to provide a solution. Founded in 2021 by former Unit 8200 commanders Yoav Regev and Asaf Kochan, along with two other founders, the company offers a suite of tools including DSPM, DDR, data access governance, and DLP. These tools enable enterprises to identify sensitive data, map access permissions, and restrict unnecessary access, all while operating within the company’s own environment to ensure data security.
Securing Data in the Age of AI
Sentra’s platform operates within a company’s own environment, ensuring sensitive data remains secure. It works in three stages: classifying and restricting data access before an incident, flagging unusual activity during, and providing a detailed report afterward. This report shows exactly what an agent could have touched, offering critical insights into potential data exposure.
The funding will enhance Sentra’s capabilities, focusing on deeper visibility into AI agents and copilots, continuous least-privilege controls, and faster containment when an agent misbehaves. The company plans to expand its team, open a London office, and pursue U.S. federal contracts by late 2027, doubling its headcount in the process.

A Growing Market for AI Data Security
Sentra’s growth reflects a broader trend. With 300% year-over-year growth, the company now serves around 100 large enterprises across the U.S. and Europe, generating tens of millions in revenue. The company’s headcount has grown to 130 employees, with half based in Tel Aviv, highlighting its rapid expansion and global reach.
The market for AI data security is heating up. Cyera recently achieved a $12 billion valuation after raising $600 million in June, while Zenity raised $125 million for agent monitoring. Veeam’s acquisition of Securiti for $1.725 billion further shows the investor interest in this space. Sentra’s latest funding round, led by a bank’s venture arm, highlights the critical nature of data security, especially for industries handling highly sensitive information.
As AI adoption accelerates, companies are realizing the importance of understanding and controlling data access. CEO Yoav Regev emphasizes that AI agents are now the busiest consumers of enterprise data, often inheriting permissions that are not properly reviewed. This oversight can lead to significant risks, as highlighted by Lyft’s CISO, Chaim Sanders, who stresses the need to understand what agents can access before deployment. Sentra’s solution directly addresses this fear, offering a proactive approach to data security.
